Increase Connectivity Options: Mobile operator Vodafone has launched portable wireless hotspot Vodafone Mobile WiFi R201. The device allows up-to five users to connect to the internet through a mobile broadband connection simultaneously. Vodafone confirmed that the device is available to existing and new customers. The firm explained, “The Vodafone Mobile Wi-Fi R201 offers the ability to connect a Wi-Fi enabled device to a 3G network to increase the connectivity options.”  The device has a screen which displays battery life and information about the strength of signal.
More Flexibility: Vodafone spokesperson said, "With an increasing number of mobile phones, laptops, tablet PCs and music players requiring access to Wi-Fi to get online, the device is ideal as it supports five users and the connection can be shared." The spokesperson further added, "Because it can run over battery or be plugged in, it gives more flexibility than a mobile dongle and, although we don't see this as replacing mobile dongles, the flexibility will make it an attractive offering for many customers.” The unit provides speeds of up to 7.2Mbit/s on the downlink and 5.76Mbit/s on the uplink and can support MicroSD cards of up to 32MB available, according to the firm. The mobile internet device is available without initial charge on an 18 month contract at £25 per month, which includes 5GB of data allowance.
